Rémy Martin pays tribute to the winegrowers

Rémy Martin, from the Rémy Cointreau Group, celebrates the French terroir and the people who take great care of it via the new limited edition “L’Étape”.

No less than 19 winemakers, working alongside the Rémy Martin vineyards, have contributed to the creation of “L’Étape“. This unique blend is an exceptional Fine Champagne cognac that reflects the personality of all its creators. These people are deeply committed to sustainable agriculture. For them, the terroir of Grande and Petite Champagne is of the utmost importance. They respect the vines, the cycle of the seasons, the climate, the environment, and the way this ecosystem is preserved for future generations.

These 19 winemakers brought enthusiasm, passion and humility to this creation, which was then assembled by the Cellar Master of the Maison Rémy Martin, Baptiste Loiseau. L’Étape embodies the permanent commitment of the House and its partners, the effort, step by step, to constantly improve its practices.

L’Étape is a singular Fine Champagne cognac that reflects the personality of the men and women who are winegrowers and partners of the House and who are committed to sustainable agriculture. L’Étape thus embodies an active approach to the preservation of the terroirs of Grande and Petite Champagne and a collective commitment to “Sustainable Exception“.

This project is representative of our balance : always wanting to improve our practices, while maintaining the excellence of our cognac,Baptiste Loiseau, Cellar Master.

For more than 10 years, Rémy Martin has been working to develop a pioneering model on its estates to develop responsible growing practices. In 2007, the Domaines were certified as Agriculture Raisonnée. In 2012, they were among the very first in France to obtain the High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. Among its practices, we find since 2014, the test of different sowing on its Domains in partnership with the Chamber of Agriculture of Charente.

The objective is to identify the most interesting cover crops for the soils of Grande and Petite Champagne but also to establish their optimal maintenance method. The first results showed a structural improvement of the soils.
