Discover the Pure Watercraft all-electric luxury pontoon boat

Pure Watercraft is partnering with General Motors on an electric pontoon boat, after the latter acquired a 25% stake in Pure Watercraft for about $150 million last November.

Pure Watercraft is leading the movement to fundamentally transform recreational boating. Founded in 2011 in Seattle, Washington, the company offers innovative electric marine propulsion that preserves the air and waterways for future generations.

The Pure Watercraft-designed luxury all-electric pontoon boat offers a new level of performance and low maintenance to a segment that represents approximately 20% of the U.S. recreational boating market and is growing at over 20% annually.

The pontoon boat, with a top speed of up to 23 mph, will seat up to 10 people and is powered by one or two Pure outboard motors and a General Motors battery with a maximum capacity of 66 kWh. It offers versatility for cruising, watersports and fishing while providing an accessible boating experience that only an all-electric boat can offer. Pricing is expected to start at $45,000 (single outboard) and $60,000 (dual outboard) with first deliveries scheduled for late 2022.

Pontoon boating is booming because people want to get out on the water and meet their family and friends in the great outdoors. This boat gives them a more enjoyable experience, without the engine noise and hassle of fuel and maintenance, at a price comparable to a conventional pontoon boat. This unprecedented value is the result of our constant focus on efficiency,” explains the brand’s website.

Other technical capabilities include one or two 25kW electric outboard motors with tilt and power adjustment, an integrated charger that connects to outlets (120 and 240V), a Bluetooth-enabled throttle and a standard Pure Watercraft propeller.
